Optimum Breathe is the newest addition to the Optimum range of materials, providing superior levels of oxygen permeability (250 Dk) alongside excellent wettability for scleral lens wearers.

Designed as a bespoke material in response to industry demands for higher oxygen permeability for patients with complex corneal conditions, Optimum Breathe offers post-graft and failing-graft patients another scleral lens material option.

Specifically for scleral lenses, Optimum Breathe delivers the highest Dk on the market, to support patients with challenging corneal conditions such as corneal transplants, Fuchs’ endothelial corneal dystrophy and endothelial failure.

Optimum Breathe has been designed for use by manufacturers producing scleral lenses intended for a range of challenging fitting scenarios, where high oxygen permeability is often considered during material selection. These may include lenses manufactured for patients with complex corneal conditions.

Suitable for use in lens designs including:

  • Extended daily wear lens designs*
  • Lenses manufactured for therapeutic or medical applications*
  • High plus prescriptions
  • Toric lens designs

*Final lens indications, wearing schedules, and clinical use are determined by the lens manufacturer and prescribing eye care professional.
