RECOMMENDED MATERIAL:
For this case, the Optimum Infinite material from Contamac was specifically chosen over 100 Dk options for the following critical clinical reasons:
- Night-time Safety: As this is a nocturnal treatment (eyes closed), the cornea depends exclusively on the oxygen passing through the material. A Dk of 180 ensures maximum oxygen flow, minimising any risk of corneal oedema or hypoxia.
- Digital Lifestyle: Given that the patient works extensively in front of screens and already presented a BUT of 8s, we needed a material that would maintain corneal physiological integrity without worsening dry eye.
- Corneal Safety: Using an Orthokeratology design, choosing Hyper-Dk (180) was a proactive decision to ensure a clear and healthy cornea not only short term, but throughout years of continuous treatment.

Topography post-treatment revealed a perfect oblate pattern with a centred treatment zone in both eyes. Corneal health remained impeccable, with no staining or anterior segment alterations, demonstrating the effectiveness of high oxygen transmissibility.
