Introducing: Contact Lens Companion

28/02/2025

This handy reference guide is the most recent addition to Contamac’s ongoing Educational Programme.

It is not intended to replace a conventional textbook, but rather to offer a concise, practical guide to some conditions that, thanks to developments in modern contact lens practice, are seen less frequently these days. It features slit lamp images, together with descriptions of aetiology, signs, symptoms and treatment options for those conditions.

The text and most of the images are drawn from an excellent book “In Contact – Clinical Contact Lens Practice” by Dr Dirk Booysen. I met Dr Booysen at a conference in South Africa and he kindly offered to allow me to use the content for the guide. Other images have been kindly donated by practitioners from around the world including Dr Tom Arnold (USA), Mark Darling and Chris Steele (UK), and Dr Taldayen Rustem (RF).

You can access the chapters of “In Contact – Clinical Contact Lens Practice” here.
